Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
I had given a cheque to a person by the name yogesh patel of 635000rs with ot the name on it .inturn he was suppose to give me another cheque which he did not give .after two day i recived the same cheque in my bank with changing the date and singing there & he had put his brothers name there sanjay patel .he then send me a legal notice & replyed to it .i do not know him & know he has put a case of 138 agnist me .what do i do and what is my legal standing in this matter please reply

You should lodge a criminal complaint of cheating and forgery - tampering with the doucment / check.
i agree with Adv Goel. you also have a good chance of getting acquited from S138 case as you can prove forgery / alteration in chq and no legal liability.
