Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
I have given two cheques in amount of each Rs. 2,00,000/- ( Two Lakhs only) to my friend based on his affirmation that he will get me a loan of equal amount. He failed to do so, however, he has bad intention towards the cheque and he bounced the cheque twice. He sent a notice to pay the entire amount of two cheques.Failing to do so, he said I will have to face legal consequences. Please suggest what I should do in this regard.
Regards,
SAM

you may send a reply to the legal notice stating that the cheques were given towards the security and not towards any debt or liability. however, u should not have handed over your cheques to anyone in case you know even a little of law.
