Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
Compliant copy in High court
Ld Counsels,
Will the high court secure a copy of criminal complaint in its records from respondent police while deciding on a anticipatory bail petition.
If the polcie refuses to give can HC be approached to get a copy of criminal compliant.

Re: Compliant copy in High court
1. A certified copy of FIR is required to be filed with application for anticipatory bail.
2. A FIR is a public document and one can get a copy of FIR either from Police or from the Court of Magistrate exercising jurisdiction over concerned police station.
Re: Compliant copy in High court
Yes high court can ask for a copy of complaint and police is bound to produce the same on the same day or the day fixed by the court. Police is lower than H.C so police is duty bound to produce the same.
Good luck and regards.
