Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

this is in continuation with my earlier question about the passport. the guy had a valid passport and he surrendered it and got another one made. now that is what is surprising. is it in any way going to help him in his divorce case which is going on or make him prove a point . i am trying to figure out that,
