i meant to say, there could be a cross f.i.r.....one f.i.r from dealer's side and one u can lodge based upon your allegations of offence committed by dealer by handing you over forged sale papers.

Counter FIR means FIR in retaliation of previous FIR lodged by opposite party.

Your version of the incident - you said that you had paid Rs.50,000/- but you got 'forged' document from the vehicle owner; it amounts to fraud and forgery committed by him upon you. Since he has already filed a complaint, your complaint/FIR may be named as a counter FIR.
