in a criminal case what is the time limit to puting the chargsheet?

No time limit prescribed.
However, as per the trend of case laws, all criminal matters should be investigated and trial ar concluded as expeditiously as possible.

Bail may be granted if chargesheet is not filed within 60/90 days. You may file a quashing of the FIR u/s 482 of the CrPC if the chargesheet has not been filed.

Time limit depends upon nature of offence; and is applicable only in cases where the offence is punishable with not more than three years of sentence.
