Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
Criminal Procedure Code, Section 198
Is it compulsory to obtain the permission of appropriate Government/authority under Cr PC , section 198 before filing an FIR against a public servant?? Are there any judgement authorities of Supreme Court on the issue ?? Please , give the SC case nos etc and the brief detail or a the link to get this judgement/order.

No sanction require for filing of FIR against public servant.

recently there was a judgement on this section.
it was specifically discussed that the permission is neccessary or not.
permission is not neccessary on some grounds but i can not give judgements here.
