Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Dear Sir/Madam,

It would be a huge favor if you could assist me with your vast experience please :

I have been wrongly charged with FIR under section 120(criminal conspiracy) in 2006..I was working in a bank and some 3rd person alleged on me and done this with his political links on very tiny issue.Though, I have explained the case facts to Incharge officer at that time and he promised me to quash the thing after some time.

I have not received any call or court notice since then and IO confirmed me that things had been settled. But, two days back I got a call from police station and s'one asking details about that FIR.

My question is that, Is FIR can be valid for 2 years as i have not received any notice as of now ?

Incharge officer has not allowed us to meet the complainant at that time, also i don't think complainant was curious enough to lodge a complaint....I had filled the forms at police station and except that nothing happened so far...Don't want to hide from you,but i have bribed the IO also.

Please help me as your brother as don't know what to do...

No time limit about validity of a FIR or completion of an investigation.

Visit the court exercising jurisdiction over the police station and get copies of the FIR and reports filed by IO to find out correct situation.
