Defamation and compensation
What are the cases that one can file if he is acquitted in 498a. Please let me know the difference b/w civil and criminal defamation. Also if a divorce is filed after a 498a and the husband gets acquitted in 498a can he file for defamation for both cases separately? Does one have to pay any upfront amount for file damages of say 5 to 10 lacks? Which is more lethal a civil defamation calming damages or criminal defamation?

It depands on findings and evidences in the court.

It all depends on the evidence and findings of the court disposing 498A matter in acquittal.

you can ask for damages. about defamation i can tell only after going through the documents.

You will have to prove or submit evidence to prove defamation.It is not so easy.
The ultimate discretion is of the court to ascertain and give damages.
which is more lethal of course it depends on the extent of loss caused due to defamation.

There is no such civil or criminal defamation.Defamation is punishable in IPC and compensation can also be claimed in lieu of defamation caused to the person concerned.Firstly file criminal case and thereafter civil case.In case of any other query,contact with details. professional charges are applicable.
