Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Extension of time to answer for summon

I have received a court summon under section 160 Crpc to appear before ACP, Gurgaon. It is related to enquiry of one case which is filed u/s 420, 467, 468, 471 IPC and 67 IT Act. Actually the case is not filed against me. My name is also matching with the actual culprit name but police is not able to find the original culprit. They have called me to submit some document proofs to say I am different from that person and next level enquiry. Basically I am from Bangalore. It is not possible to travel many times from Bangalore to Gurgaon. I would like to finish everything when I go once. Since I am waiting for receiving some documents from somebody I have asked to extend my time for two weeks. It is going to finish by day after tomorrow and still I haven't received my stong proof document. So shall I again extend my time or instead of me can I arrange some lawyer to represent me? Also shall I submit my documents via mails by sending the scan copy? Will they accept it? If they didn't accept those thing, will they issue a warrant to arrest me? May I know, how many times and how long we can extend the time in case if we have received such summon?I am ready to go as soon as I received the strong proof, but it is delaying from other side.

If you do not cooperate with the investigation, they may have to arrest you.

Re: Extension of time to answer for summon

yours is a case of mistaken identity and it is suggested that you hire a lawyer immediately to represent you in gurgaon and this way you would avoid all the unforeseen fears viz warrants of arrest, malicious prosecution etc. send a duly authorized attorney to your lawyer and avoid restless nights.
