Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

hi, I have filed FIR against my husband and his immediate family members under 498(A), 506 and DVA too. He has filed for divorcee on jan2009. I have filed for restitution.Meanwhile one of the accused member of my husband family has met my previous counsel and thretened us saying he is goingto do something very badly against me in Hifgh court and he has planned to arrest me and my family in somewayas he has engaged a powerful leading lawyer(lawyer name mentioned by him) if i dont come for compromise. where should i complain about this. my previous counsel called me and informned abt this. how do, where do i make complain and under which section. even my present counsel is not helping me as the accused party is highly sound in financial.

Since, your counsel is the only witness to the threatening, he has to accompany you to lodge a criminal complaint. The police authorities has to register the case under IPC 506 (1). In case, you have received any direct threatening, you can file the complaint at concerned Police Station. If the police do not register the complaint, you can seek remedy through criminal court by filing a private complaint u/s 200 Cr. PC.

There is no need to worry. The cases have been filed and law will take its course. You can request your current counsel or previous counsel to file a complaint with police.

If they will not, file a police complaint for protection giving details as applicable.

Mr.Sheshadri is right. u have already file the complaint now you can file an application of threat before police and police will enquire the matter.
