friend of husband can be convicted in 498A, 3/4 dp act 3/4?

No. Friend does not fall into the ambit of 'relative' contemplated in Section 498A IPC. If you see the latest edition of CRIMES (journal of criminal cases decided by Supreme Court and High Courts) you will find a judgment where in the supreme court has even held that the Foster Sister does not fall into the term 'relative' as contemplated in 498A. the same analogy applies for friend and the friend would be out of 498A.
do you mean Domestiv Violence Act? or else what is dp act?
