Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
A group of five persons have been booked under 129(b), 156(3) and the charges are 420, 467,468, forgery of land deal. The case is been run agianst 5 accused versus state of maharashtra. I would like to know that can one accused file his case separately from the group and lead his hearings angainst the state in a separate case or he has to be in the group forever.

a separate trial cannot take place but he can lead evidence to the effect that he has no relation with the group and was not involved in the criminal transactions.
