Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Hi,

I have given a 1,50000 to my friend and in return for the security purpose he has given me 1 blank cheque leaf this happened 6years back and i keep on asking him the money and he tells that he will return in few days but he is not.

My question are:-

1) Will that cheque still holds good for bouncing.( It is 6 years old cheque leaf )

2) He has given me the cheque leaf of the joint accout of his wife signatured will this be vaild

3) The cheque leaf is the UTI bank account and now it is Axis bank will this be valid.

4) What is the procedure for me to go through.

Please help me out

in case the date has been mentioned on the cheque, it is as good as a piece of paper. you cannot even file a civil suit upon a 3 years old cheque. is this a blank cheque or amount and date is written on it...do come up with details.

If date is mention on cheque then no case and cheque is totally blank without date then recovery suit.

1. Yes, if the date was not mentioned originally, you may put a current date now.

2. and 3. - Yes.

4. You may deposit the cheque and thereafter follow your remedy in accordance with law.
