Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
Is it illegal for foreigners to bribe private indian individuals?
A foreign company attempted to gain a project with an indian company run by an Indian family by giving a large monetary gift to a member of the family who was also an employee of the same company.
1. Is this illegal? And could the employee of the company, although a private individual be classed as a public servantdepending on the activities of the company?
2. Does the Indian government have control over all business activities in India? or are there purely private businesses in India?
