I have issued a cheque for rs.50,000/- post dated 18/6/2010, as a surity of the chitfund company, on the same day i have got receipt for rs.20,000/- from the chitfund company.the prized subscriber of the chit is willing to pay the entire defaulted amount in court, the complainant is refused the same. i am also willing to pay the cheque amount, will court punish me for prision how much time will take for the settlement of the case, kindly guide me

Since it is compoundable offense and you need not worry about legal consequences you just appear before the court and seek bail. and made a submission that you are ready for the settlement court will consider it and refer the case for lok adalath for settlement.
