Re: Lawyer Change
if you have cleared all the dues, and your lawyer is insisting on more money, you can Complain to the Bar Council regarding the conduct of your advocate
Re: Lawyer Change
you may still change your lawyer and there is no legal bar to it.
Re: Lawyer Change
The lawyers are governed by the discipline enforced by the Bar Associations and the State Bar Councils.
You may contact the
(a) Bar Association where he is a member;
(b) The State Bar Council where he is enrolled as an Advocate.
However, you may first inform him about your having clear his dues and that you have to approach the Bar Association and the Bar Council if he continues making unreasonable demands.
Re: Lawyer Change
Write to him that you have paid all the dues giving him the details of cash and cheque. If he still insist then lodge a complaint with the State Bar Council.
