i lent 8 lakh rupess to a person, when i went and asked him the money he is threatening that he would commit suicide if i come to his home for money,he gave me cheques for the amount as surety please suggest me a solution

Deposit cheque given as security, then if he refuses or fails to pay file NI criminal complaint
