Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

I lent money to my friend and he agreed to pay the money back within few months with some interest and he gave me three cheques without dates.Few months he paid the interest and stopped it afterwards. Recently he asked me to encash the cheques but after I deposied one of the cheque it got bounced. He is not willing to pay my money back. What can I do now? pls help, I got bounced cheque notice from the bank.

you can send the legal notice to your friend asking him to pay within 15 days from receiving the notice and in case he does not do so, you may file a complaint under negotiable instruments act before the magistrate.

you may recover the loan amount with interest by filing a recovery suit of summary nature and also file criminal complaint for bounced cheques after issuing him a notice
