For criminal cases/complaints limitation is prescribed basing on their punishment period. To know exact limitation,section of law under which offence it was filed to be known.

Depends on nature of offence and date of knowledge.

Please note that complaint in criminal cases do not follow any sort of limitation. Although delaying complaint may reduce its value which benefits accused person. Accused person is not discharged at once but benefit of delay goes to accused. Convince court on delay. As soon as you cover the delay on material grounds, court may take cognizance upon offence and trial may commence.
