Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

We have made a contract with one Company for purchase a plant and machinery of rs. 85 lakhs, out of that supplier send a P & M for Rs. 70 Lakhs and we have paid for Rs. 72 Lakhs. then that supplier had not supplied the remaining P & M, and so we have instruct our Bank for Stop Payment of those cheques for Rs. 15 Lakhs, then the supplier had made a case under N. I Act 138 for those cheques, so what to do and which are legal remedies for us. This is a almost 12 year old case, and even the supplier company is taken over by another comapny.

12 year old transaction cannot be enforced now. Secondly, you have no liability to pay any further amount. the cheques have lost its consideration. You will have to contest, prove it and win it.
