Mental & Physical harrashment ny husband

This senario is related to My sister.My sister got married three years back. Now she is staying seperately. She had her unmarried sister in law staying with them who is almost 40 yrs now. Her In laws tortured her a lot, she wasn't even fed properly,which resulted in to the miscarriage. They had demanded for money also. Her husband has withdrawn money from my sisters account (This money was given to my sis by my mother). He has romoved this amount through self cheques, thats why we can't prove it. He also harrashed her sexually. Her sister in law also threatened her to her life.

After this we approached the advocates and because of our advocates eforts to save marriage my sister could go back to her house. But again her husband repeated the same story & my sister got back again.

Just to tell about his advocate, he is an arrogant person & had insulted my parents many times, but still they kept mum for teir daughter.

Now because of elderly person's advice we are thinking of opting for a divorce by mutual concent, but here also he is adament and putting forth his own terms.

Kindly advice, what should we do to teach him a lesson???????????

Prosecute people responsible for physical and mental cruelty to your sister.

You can file case u/s 498A r/w 406 IPC and /or file case under Domestic violence Act.

Firt of all made a complaint to "women cell" at your city alongwith your full detail of dowry articles and other cash handed over to your sisters husband and their family members. Also name all the family mambers of your sisters family in your complaint. They will call your sisters husband and try to resolve the matter and incase they will not agreed on your terms and conditions and did not promise to stay cool then you should first file a complaint under section 406 and 498-A IPC.
