Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Mr. Thakur gave witness on oath in departmental court of Inquiry that he saw husband of victim abusing her of illicit relations with me. That departmental court of Inquiry was against Mr. Thakur for his alleged sexual harassment. I was a witness in favor of that female. Mr. Thakur says that the husband of that female accuses her of illicit relations with me and the husband of that female and Mr. Thakur have patched up mutually to defame me of having illicit relations. There is no proof of ilicit relations with the husband of that female and Mr.Thakur.That female also never complained against me of making any insult or molesting. How can Mr. thakur allege me of having illicit relations with anyone. Is he not liable to penal action u/c 499,500 for defaming third party with malice, in absence of good faith and public interest.
