perjury

signing a false statement in front of a lawyer and submitting to a court in form of a counter to a petition by a party is termed as perjury. Suppose the lawyer has submitted the same with out the party signing in fron of him and declares the statement as sub,itted on behalf of the party , who had done the purjury? the party or his lawyer.?

The party because the lawyer is only a representative of the party. In case the lawyer has done this act without the information of the party, the party can bring disciplinary action against the lawyer by filing an application with the state bar council.

The lawyers are agents for the clients and are usually not held guilty for the actions of their clients; however, a lot will depend upon situation of the case. One may pursue his case in the court and wait for the results.
