Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Some persons belongs to Jain family threatens us to take our lives if the cases of dowry against them are not withdrawn.

Police did not note the FIR and/or complaint.

Please suggest any other mode of filing FIR or criminal cases against the persons.

If police are not registering the FIR, then you may approach superior police officers in terms of section 154(2) Cr.P.C.

You may also consider approaching the concerned Magistrate with a private complaint.

(i) When a Police Officer-in-Charge of the police station or any other police Officer, acting under the directions of the Officer-in-Charge of police station refuses to register an information disclosing a cognizable offence, the informant may either approach the Superintendent of Police under Section 154 (3) or the Magistrate concerned under section 156 (3) of the Code.
