Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
The punishment prescribed for attempt to murder is seven years imprisonment. But attempt to commit offence is life imprisonment, which I do not understood. Please help me out.

there is nothing like 'attempt to commit offence'. attempt to Commit which offence?

no, section 511 does not apply to section 307 of IPC as Sec 307 itself talks about attempt.
