Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Both are hindu and got married under HMA.In maintenance under sec 125 wife has said she is presently unemployed.Which is true.but she was employed before marriage.She was working in company called VCI.But in maintenance case she lied that she was working in airtel.Is it crminal offence what she did?

lying about the previous employer cannot benefit u in the petition of perjury against her. if she is capable of earning, this would entitle her lesser amount of maintenance.

No, it may not be any offence at all. You may be responsible for payment of maintenance allowance and should start making payment at the earlier without waiting for court orders.
