Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

No response on complaint

A genuine complaint was sent through Registered Post Aknowledgement Due to local Electoral Registration Officer with document proofs against a person who has dual vote in two different constituencies in INDIA with photograph Voter I.D. In spite to take legal action as it was humbly requested to him, local E.R.O. has openly denied to take any sort of action at all. Even the Carbon copies of said complaint were sent to

01. Chief Electoral Officer, Chandigarh.

02. District Election Officer, Ferozepur.

03. Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab.

04. Chief Election Commissioner of India, New Delhi.

05. District Magistrate, Ferozepur.

06. District Magistrate, Chandigarh.

What to do next to ensure legal action against the offender and concerned local Electoral Registration Officer?

Thanks in anticipation.

Re: No response on complaint

Write another reminder letter to the authorities. If no answer from them then approach the jurisdictional court.

Re: No response on complaint

You may give them sufficient time to take appropriate action. Moreover, this is election time and the entire machinery may be busy with the election process.

You may consider sending another reminder to the authorities. You may better confine your complaint only to the District Magistrate of Chandigarh and Ferozepore instead of wasting your time and energy on sending copies to other authorities.

Re: No response on complaint

If the offence is cognisable, report to police. If offence is non-cognisable, approach the court within whose jurisdiction offence was committed.
