There is no time limit. however, the case should be reported at the earliest after the alleged cheating is revealed.

Read section 468 of Cr.PC. It would be about 3 yrs from the date of knowledge.

For offence U/s.420 IPC, no period of limitation has been prescribed.
However, report of any offence should be made as soon as possible and in case of delay, same is required to be explained satisfactorily.
