sir i have given cheques and blank stamp paper to ex-wife as security as we applied for mutual consent divorce and agreed to pay 5lac as alimony ,later i have paid the amount and got the divorce ,but now my ex-wife and her family members not returning the cheques and stamp paper given as security and demanding more 2lac threatening that they will file a false cheq bounce case if i have not paid the amount .

please advice me what to do and whom to approach

in case you got the divorce by mutual consent, no case can be filed unless the cheque that was given, is towards the alimony and cheque number is mentioned in the judgment.

Dont get upset as you must have mentioned this cheque and its nos. in your settlement in your divorce petition that it was for security etc. given to your wife and was to return back to you after the divorce . you can also file a complaint before the police giving all the reasons you have mentioned in your question against your ex wife.
