tape recording conversation

Is it illegal to tape record conversation without other party's concent.I want to tape record conversation with my wife to produce it as evidence in my divorce case.But i want to know is tape recording my conversation with my wife without her knowledge or concent is illegal in india?

NOTE;I want to tape record conversation to proove her adultry.

Recording of private conversation for private use may not be illegal. You may be entitled to produce such tapes in court as evidence of Adultery. However, she may have an equally strong evidence / defence;

if you fail to prove the ground of adultery, it may amount to cruelty/domestic violence by you and you may suffer criminal prosecution.

No illegal. Tape recorded conversation can be adduced as evidence.
