UK embassy
can i take my 498A complaint to the british high commission in mumbai if husband has absconded to London.
Do they deal with such cases b'coz they gave me reply saying they deal with only visa stuff. Pls suggest where shud i approach for help.

UK Embassy may help only after issuance of Warrant or Red Corner Notice through Interpol.

You send a copy of the FIR registered by the Indian Police u/s 498-A IPC to the British High Commission in India (Mumbai or New Delhi). You may also send a copy of the FIR to Indian High Commission in UK and request for appropriate action.

No the embassy can help only if their is a valid order, arrest warrant from court, or other concerned authorities.

File a police complaint and then approach British Consulate. Further you can also consider writing to the Indian Consulate in UK

You have to file an FIR with the Police in Mumbai,where cause of action has taken place.After investigation,rest of the procedure will follows.

Firstly, you may approach to the Police Station of your area and file a FIR and send it to the British High Commision as well as the certified copy with the statement to the Indian High Commision in the UK.
