What is the difference between appeal and revision

In cases where no appeal is possible the revisional powers of High Court can be invoked. The grounds for appeal and revision are different.
Appeal can be made only on a final judgement or decree, but revision can be made on interlocutory orders. Though some Judges do defer on this point too.
So orders where there is no appeal revision comes into. Orders where appeal lies no revision can be made.
