Agreement of Education

I am employed as a professor in a University and enrolled for ph.D. the thesis of the Ph.D degree is submitted and also recieved the examination report. Now the University is asking agreement for service for 5 years then only they will allow for viva leads to the award of the degree. I donot want to go with the agreement and also university had issued the Course completion certificate after submission of Thesis. kindly advice me

1. whether to go with the agreement or not?

2. If I go with the agreement and willing to resign, what will be my stance in court of law?

I am coming under the category of completed students.

please advice me

Sir,

If you see the situation from the practical point of veiw then you should go ahead with the agreement.

However, the agreement should be first checked by your councils so that the loop holes and the contraints can be evaluated and can be modulated as per in benifit of yours.

We would be more than happy to undertake the task.

was there any agreement between you and university before your enrolement for Ph.d?.Univeristy cannot insist for employment agreement as a pre condition for Viva, your right to have Ph.d as student cannot be surrendered to get employed under university, however if you have violated any conditions for enrollement you may be liable for damgages or forfeiture of bond if any.
