Legal Question in Education Law in India
Domicile Certificate Application - no birth certificate
hi,
i am staying in mumbai for the past 21 yrs (from birth, birth place also being mumbai). i need a domicile certificate to apply for P.G. college here.
but i do not have a birth certificate (lost). i aslo looked into my college Leaving Certificate (as suggested by one of my friends) but that doesnt have any info about my place of birth either. only my passport has that info (which my friend told me will not help).
thus please suggest me what documents should i submit to get the domicile.
and how much time does it take for the entire process.
thank you
Krishnan

Re: Domicile Certificate Application - no birth certificate
Your passport should be a valuable supportive document. However, you may obtain a 'duplicate' birth certificate.
You should contact the local Collector's office to know the procedure, time likely to be taken for the certificate and forms required to be submitted for the same.
