Regarding Selection
In a selection for Post of AE by municipal corporation No. of posts is 3 (2-unreserved, 1- reserved for schedule caste).
Procedure of recruitment- Indirect recruitment based on education, experience and performance in written exam.
Marks distribution-
Maximum marks - 100
(1) B.E. Marks - 60% of marks obtained in B.E.
(2) Masters Degree's Marks- 10
(3) Experience Marks- Maximum 20
(4) Written Exam's marks- Maximum 10
Candidate A, B and C achieved highest marks.
Cand. A belongs to general category and scored a total of 68 marks.
Cand. B belongs to and applied for post under Schedule Caste category. And got a total of 58.62 marks. Cand. B has taken benefit of reservation for admission in B.E, for admission in Masters Degree Course and also possesses work experience gained under a job reserved for SC category.
Cand. C belongs to general category and got a total of 58.25 marks.
Now the question is whether Cand. B should be selected under General category or the seat reserved for SC?
If Cand. B is selected under SC then Cand. C is also selected under the General Category.If Cand. B is selected under General category then some other candidate belonging to SC Category will get selected in place of Cand. C.

The SC candidate should be selected within his category, if he has opted for the same.
