Legal Question in Elder Law in India

My Mother is 75 years old and suffereing from chronic Asthma and Respiratory problems. Currently she is with my younger Brother at Ahmedabad who is working in a hopital.

We are getting reports from our mother that my brother keeps harrasing her mentaly to leave the house or probably for monetary issue. He wakes her up in the midle of the night for such demands.

He has also disconnected his landline phone so that my mother cannot speak with us.

We also have one elder sister in Mumbai who has confirmed that my mother is beiong harrassed.

Please advise what we can do under these circumstances as I am at Mumbai and my mother is at Ahmedabad. She is not in a position to go to police or do anything on her own. She has told us that she will commit suicide if she is harassed like this.

Please help as this is urgent.

You may approach some NGO in Gujarat. I could help you with some contacts and you may contact me at [email protected]. I suggest that you contact these NGOs on behalf of your mother and they are empowered to approach the Court under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act for protection orders for your mother.
