whether the wild life protection act 1972 provides any sort of compensation in the form of damages to be awarded as a result of attack by the wild animals? whether state is liable under the law of tort for payment of compensation? is the situation differes if the victim belongs to tribal community?

No there is no such provision in the Act, whether the victim is belonging to tribal or any other community. Law is same for all, and no special treatment or privilage is given to any tribal community.

So far so as compensation is concerned, one can claim, if there is any negligence or wrong done by otherperson or government, and not otherwise. If your in wild life centuary, which is a place reserved for wild animals, and if wild animal attach you, then you cannot say government is at fault.

But still if you want, you can go for claim, cannot be sure, if it would be entertianed oor not.
