Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi. Im 23 years from india married for 1 year. Their is no good underatanding between me nd my husband. I am planning to take a divorce nd my parents are totally against this. I just want to know if my parents can stop me in any way from getting divorced. And my husband is an ias officer so will that affect the divorce issue?

you can file a petition for divorce and your parents have no legal right to stop you from filing the same. they can only put moral pressure upon you. it is advisable to talk to your husband first and convince him for divorce by mutual consent and in case you both do not reach an agreement, you may file a petition for divorce.

You can file petition for Divorce and your parents can't stop you legally. If your husband agrees for Divorce go for filing divorce by mutual consent
