The husband after 7 years of marriage is forcibly abondoning wife on the ground that the marriage was on flase ground. He claims the wife was not graduate (actually she did not pass the exam).

Wife was staying, back and forth with the husband. While she was away she was on job, but realised, the husband has extramaritial afair, thus quit the job and want to stay with husband. Husband is forcing to go away as the marriage is null and void.

What are the legal options for the wife.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Re: Abandoning wife

The husband cannot unilaterally declare the marriage "null and void" on his terms only. We don't do it that way in Texas. In Texas, a marriage is a legal union of two people and can be terminated only by order of the court. It's called a divorce with all the trappings associeated with the procedure. See a lawyer soon.

Re: Abandoning wife

You can file a petition for restitution of conjungal rights; of course, if you are presently in India and your marriage was under the Hindu marriage Act.
