Legal Question in Family Law in India

Adoption

My younger brother married recently (six months back). Can I along with my wife give my only son (I hv no daughters) in adoption to my brother. Is the adoption deed compulsorily registerable. What is the stamp duty & registration fee in Karnataka.

Re: Adoption

I would advise you to register the adoption deed.

The charges are very nominal. They are around 1500 rs.

You may contact the local revenue authorities.

Re: Adoption

it is advisable that you dont give your own son in adoption as there would be complications for the son later on. most of the adoptions within relations doesnt work. ask your brother to adopt a son or a daughter from orphanage. and it is advised that you take good care of your own son as he is your own BLOOD.
