Legal Question in Family Law in India

I had an arranged marriage and after engagement with the girl i clearly told her that i am not interested in this marriage but she was not ready to break the engagement and we also never exchanged any love letters or calls during this time. After and before marriage we also never ever had any physical relationship. Its been a year we are married and live separately and i want to get a divorce.I also never took any dowry from her and she took all her gifts and items with her.She is already having a good job and earns decently.I am also ready to pay all the expenses incurred for the marriage and engagement but her family asking for more a compensation for her entire life.I don't have any property of my own as everything is registered on my parents name.In this case can she ask for my share on my parents property and any other compensation?

Being an arranged marriage it was not possible for me to break the engagement,in spite of telling my parents and her family they all took it casual and said everything works out after marriage. Now when things don't work after marriage then divorce is the only option and i would request from legal advisors here for a legal answer and not a moral answer or an answer like "Think what i have done" as being a educated woman it was also the responsibility of the girl not to marry a man who is not interested in her and not to blame everything on him after marriage.

If the consummation of marriage has not taken place after the marriage, you can file a petition for annulment u/s 12 of H.M.A. Or you may file a joint petition for annulment and divorce. You have all the chances to succeed. The thing is if you succeed in getting the decree of annulment pass you you will no longer be liable to pay any maintenance.Otherwise you need to pay it, the quantum may be negotiated.
