Legal Question in Family Law in India

My Ex boss has married his daughter and when he came to know that her in laws are torturing her for dowry he waited to see if things could be worked out. This took an year. Recently when we talked (he is in Mumbai and i am in Delhi) he told me that everything was over with his In Laws. Her husband tried to choke her, slapp her and pushed her out of the house. The fellow has taken all her jewellery, bank funds and stuff of his wife and even in front of Police he says that "push me behind bars i don't care"... Please tell me how can i help my ex boss and how can this person be brought to justice? can they get a divorce mutually and get her stuff back??

PS: he has some political backing

the best way of settling the matter would be by going through divorce by mutual consent and settling the financial matters at one go. this would save precious time of daughter of your boss. in case the husband and in laws are hell bent in prolonging her agony, she may go for a complaint u/s 498a/406 and also file a complaint under domestic violence act.

Though Mutual consent is the most amicable way to end the marriage, there is no guarantee that you will get your things back unless the husband is ready to give them back. So speak to him and his family and see if things can be sorted out this way. Otherwise a case under DV and 498A would be ideal.

Mutual divorce is the best solution and demand your money back etc. and if he refused then file 498A, 406 cases etc and your lawyer will guide you well. If you want our services then plz mail your details and discribe location of both husband and wife.

Good Luck

yes if both parties are ready they can go for mutual divorce (provided the other conditions of law are complied with). Ask him to approach a local lawyer for narrating full facts of the case.
