my brother married & then his wife and father both lodged a false 498a case on us and our relative. please I am living aboard and working, now a notice come to my native place to surrender passport, please advise?

how can the court ask you to surrender passport. simply seek an anticipatory bail and in case the offence is not made out in the f.i.r., go for quashing of the same. do post all the relevant details for a better opinion.

The matter is serious. You cannot lable the case is "false" till the court decides. You should try for an amicable out of court settlement and avoid litigation.
