Name change after marriage
I got married in May'07 & have marriage certificate. I want to apply passport for my wife. Do I need to give publication of the change of name in the newspaper ? Please let me know the details.

As such there is no need.You can write as ANITA(old name)alias sunita(changed name).

In case of change of name after marriage, all you need to do is annex an affidavit in the format given in the passport application form.

Your wife is entitled to apply for passport and may add your surname on the basis of marriage certificate. For a name change in certificates, you will need to follow the procedure established by concerned institutions issuing her the certificates.
