change of name

I have been remarried to a lady who has a grown up daughter with previous husband. The marriage is registered with the registrar of marriages. Now i want that in the records, the daughter's father name should be changed with my name. Whether this can be done under the law'' if so, how?

It is not possible to change the fathers name but you can be a guardian if she is a minor.

You may consult a local lawyer.

you will have to adopt her or get gaurdianship for her to get the name changed

Why don't you adopt the daughter because there is no other way that you can change the Father's name.

the original birth records cannot be changed. However you may seek guardianship of the child, if a minor before appropriate court. May consult an Advocate
