Re: Change of surname after divorce

You have had a lot of lawyers tell you that you do not need to change your name. You do not.

I have no idea what the law is in India.

I am writing to you for another reason: divorce is a very important and difficult thing. If there are children it is even MORE important, but it is very important to you even if there are no children.

I would ask you to PLEASE find a divorce lawyer, pay that lawyer some money ($200 or maybe $300 would be about right) and ask that lawyer to discuss your situation and give you advice. You need to know what ALL of the results will be, what all of your choices are.

It is not the things that you know about which will cause you the most trouble later. It is the things that you do not know, which could really hurt you.

Please, find a good lawyer, and pay the lawyer for a careful consultation.

Good luck to you.
