there is no surety of divorce in a contested divorce. if the other party is not willing to divorce, the case may linger on for years.

i agree with Adv Gupta. Even if other party doesnt appear till the time you get ex parte divorce, there are chances they may appear within next 3 months and get the decree set aside by showing some reasonable cause for non appearance.

SIr, if the other party comes in between than the case will be contested and in which case you have to prove the grounds on which you want divorce, there are certain grounds only on which you can get the divorce like cruelty,etc.
