Legal Question in Family Law in India

This is in continuation to the question asked before. Thank-you for your Kind responses. I was advised to file petition in India and serve summons via the Indian Embassy/UK. What happens if he refuses to appear in court or ignores the petition ? Does this mean that the divorce will be dragged on forever ? I've heard many instances where the contested cases have gone on for ages . Please Advice.

P.S : I do not wish to claim for maintenance or any thing as such. In fact i would have preferred if this could have been sorted out amicably. All i need is to end this nightmare.

Ill advise first prosceed with your case. why thinking as to what might happen and what might not. Secondly if he doesnot turns up the case may go Ex.-parte.
