Please let me know how the the court fix maitenenace in divorce. does the court look at the husbands income?

During the pendency of Divorce ,court decide interim maintenance and once the divorce culminates into a Decree of Divorce then the court gives alimony to the girl. Now tell me ,are you asking for maintenance or alimony ? Anyway in both situation ,court does look into the husbands income.
